Roger's Children Christmas Party 2010

This year, Roger's and Scotia held/are holding their children's holiday party on the same weekend. But then, it seemed like they were on the same weekend last year too. Only last year, we only had one to attend. This year, we could have attended both. Instead, we opted to go Roger's since all the kids would get a gift. Whereas Scotia's, kids aged 8 and under only got gifts.

The party attractions are generally the same -- large blow up slides and mechanical rides, Santa photo shoots, entertainment and games. This year, we stood in line to "spin the wheel" for a prize. Of course, we had to answer some simple questions -- the theme was retro teletoons. We all got those bouncy balls that light up when they hit the floor. But daddy spun his wheel and it landed on a non-teletoon character...and won 2 (not 1) teletoon re-usable shopping tote bags. Of course, Amelia and Amanda both got them. The line up for the game was quite long but it did not matter, cause while you waited, volunteers passed out stickers and Scooby snacks -- fruit snacks, not dog snacks.

As for this years, family pic with Santa...Aidan was very alert for this one. He could not keep his eyes off Santa. And was scared of him. He would not let me sit close to Santa during the picture.

What? I missed November!!

I can't believe that there were no posts for November. And we are already a few days into December!

Just recap, November was not a boring month with nothing to write about. It was actually because I did not have time to sit down to reflect or journalize the events. The days suddenly got shorter and the winds turned colder to make us put on an extra layer for warmth. I also started my new job. We have become very busy from the time we wake up to the time we go to bed at night.

We observed Remembrance Day to remember how Canada became what it is. We had Parent/Teacher interviews to tell us what we already knew or even expected. As for Aidan, he is still crawling at a very fast pace but is starting to walk on his own. He knows that he can get around faster by crawling and prefers to be on fours than twos.

The indoor/outdoor show policy has now been extended to Chinese school...which means we have to find some simple slip ons for the girls to change into for Saturdays. And since they are strongly abide by that policy, the girls did get a frown last week, when there was light snow and no indoor shoes to change into!

As December has started, the month of holiday cheer is bestowed upon us. The malls have already decorated the halls with boughs and large ornaments. And who else...the guy in the red suit is working diligently in his green chair, kids crying when they see his white beard, or is it his overall appearance? Santa can be creepy to a 3 year old.

And us, taking our annual Christmas photo by the escalator beside the Santa photo booth. The silly reindeers are just as nice!

Next on the agenda is to start planning on that menu for Christmas dinner...
