Happy 11 months Aidan!!

You are growing too fast...but I love watching you learn so many new gestures and knowing your likes and dislikes. You have become your own little person!

Some milestones...saying "no thanks" in chinese or even just saying "no". I guess learning that word was very easy for him since it is my every second word to him. He just crawls into everything and anything these days. One time I only found his socked feet sticking out from under the coffee table. Apparently, he was playing with some dust bunny friends. And when you scold him...he quickly makes you pay for that by banging his head on the floor or wall.

Dancing is another like for this little guy and understands "watch the weather report" or "turn on the tv" in chinese. He'll turn to the tv or raise his arms to do his dance. He even knows the remote is to turn on the tv. Good thing he has not figured out which one is for the tv. So, he pretends to press the buttons on any remote and looks at the tv for a response.

He also shows his emotions like jealousy especially when he sees me hugging the girls and leaving him out. He will find a way to be a part of the hug even if it means to pull and hit one of his sisters.

What I don't like is that he tends to pick up anything and then mouths it. I don't know how many small pieces of paper he has digested..same with old cheerios and cookie crumbs. He has also discovered that my cassette tapes have "strings" that can be pulled out to create an endless hair ball.

Still not sleeping thru the night which makes me very irritated. Why can't he sleep for longer lapses?? Four or five hours at a time is all I ask!!

But anyways...you will soon reach a year old...but I still remember the day you arrived just like ti was yesterday. Where has the time gone?

And you wonder why my "he" turns to "you" in some instances...all it means is that I took breaks (to find what Aidan is up to) from writing or they are just signs that my sleepless nights has finally caught up to me...

Back to School

ahhhh....seems like as soon as the school year started, the weather quickly made it clear that summer vacation was OVER. The cool mornings and not to mention a tad dark at 7 am, made staying in bed even more enticing. But the routine has to start...up at 7 am, getting the kids up (Aidan too), breakfast, lunches to be re-heated before packing and out the door by 8:10. Although, it has only been a week...we have still yet to get up without moaning -- me included. I am still lacking sleep because some little person needs a mini-feeding at midnight and 3 am. My back is very tired in the morning so, I would love to lay for a few more minutes. ugh..

On the first day of school, the school yard was not as hectic as previous years. The student population looked less...esp. if you minus all the extra parents. Since we already knew the girls' teachers, we went just let the girls line up according to their teacher. I just stood along the sides chatting with mom's Freda and Mrs. Yu. Shortly, after the bell rang, all the kids filed into the school and we were able to head home and off to dim sum with mom, dad and Karen.

After dim sum, we completed our grocery shopping for the week and went home so that Aidan could get his afternoon nap in. But it wasn't until the end of the girls' lunch hour, I got the unexpected call from the school. Ender, my fellow Pizza mom, called to let me know that Amanda fell down and broke her glasses and possibly twisted her ankle. We quickly went to the school to pick her up -- thank goodness, it was only minor scrapes and glasses that could still be saved. So, we took our little Miss Clumsy home and cleaned up her scrapes. Hopefully this will be a lesson for Amanda to learn that my reminders of "no glasses during recess or gym" must be obeyed!
